§ 8 Interprovincial trade, import and export

(1) Any food that is sent or conveyed from one province to another or that is imported or exported (a) must not be contaminated; (b) must be edible; (c) must not consist in whole or in part of any filthy, putrid, disgusting, rotten, decomposed or diseased animal or vegetable substance; and (d) must have been manufactured, prepared, stored, packaged and labelled under sanitary conditions.

(2) It is prohibited for a person to mix a contaminated food with other food so that it meets the requirements of subsection (1), unless the person is authorized to do so by the Minister under subsection (3).

(3) The Minister may authorize a person to mix a contaminated food with other food if the Minister is of the opinion that no risk of injury to human health will result.
